Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has confirmed the death of Isabella Ajana, a 100-level Law student, and has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her passing. Isabella, who was living with Type 1 Diabetes, died on July 4, 2025, at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital after nearly a week of hospitalisation. Reports indicate that she and her roommates were locked out of their Emalda Hostel room on June 27 after mistakenly leaving their key inside. Unable to access her insulin and medication for three days, Isabella’s health deteriorated before they gained access on June 30. Although she received medical attention and showed signs of recovery, Isabella tragically passed away on July 4. Her death sparked grief and anger among students, with allegations that hostel management demanded up to N40,000 before releasing the spare key—a claim hostel authorities have denied. HAPPENING NOW!! JAMB Makes Shocking Revelations, Alleges Foul Play in UTME Result of Highest Scorer, Chinedu Okeke from Anambra

Image
...Says UTME Highest Scorer Is Already a University Student in Enugu  The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised concerns over possible foul play in the 2025 UTME result of Chinedu Okeke, who emerged as the highest scorer with 375. Speaking at JAMB's 2025 policy meeting in Abuja, Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede revealed that Okeke, an Anambra indigene who applied for Mechanical Engineering at the University of Lagos, is already a student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he was admitted last year to study Medicine. JAMB disclosed that the law does not permit a student to matriculate twice, and this situation gives Okeke an unfair advantage over other candidates. JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, further stated that inconsistencies in Okeke’s records, including conflicting state-of-origin claims between the South-East and Lagos State, have led the Board to suspect that he may have acted as a mercenary in the examination.   A 16-year-old girl, Miss Joy Afekafe, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the killing of Dr. Mrs. Funmilayo Sherifat Adefolalu, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, which occurred in 2023 when Joy was just 14 years old. Justice Mohammed stated, “On the whole and for all the reasons stated in this judgment, I hold that the prosecution was able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Dr Mrs Funmilayo Sherifat Adefolalu is dead and that her death was caused by the convict with her friends.” Although Section 221 of the Penal Code pres...
