Beneficiaries of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's "Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme" are expressing their profound gratitude for the life-saving interventions provided by the former Governor of Enugu State.


One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Otija Godwin from Uvuru, shared his remarkable story. He had struggled for a long time to find a solution for a complex benign growth in his left ear and had been burdened by unaffordable surgery bills ranging from N900,000 to N1,000,000 at various hospitals in Enugu. However, Mr. Godwin's life took an extraordinary turn when he discovered the "Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme" initiated by Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. This humanitarian healthcare initiative performed the much-needed surgery entirely free of charge, saving him nearly 1 million Naira. Another beneficiary, 4-year-old Eze Alex from Ejona Ugwu Ugbene, who was suffering from Hydrocoele of the cord, was also saved through surgery during a session held the previous Sunday.


These two beneficiaries, joined by numerous well-wishers, expressed their profound gratitude to Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his intervention in addressing their health conditions. The fact that the surgery was conducted without any cost to the patients underscores the significance of Hon. Ugwuanyi's healthcare initiative.


Dr. George Ajogwu, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, expressed his joy and appreciation for Hon. Ugwuanyi's unwavering support for the health needs of Enugu citizens. Dr. Ajogwu emphasized that this commitment continues even after Hon. Ugwuanyi has left office, demonstrating solidarity with the current administration led by Governor Peter Mbah and Deputy Governor Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai.


This surgery, which would have been a significant financial burden for these individuals, was made available free of charge through the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, emphasizing the program's dedication to accessible healthcare.


Dr. Ajogwu reiterated that Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is committed to ensuring that no citizen of Enugu State suffers health challenges due to financial constraints.
