FAN Foundation Advocates for Girl Child Empowerment In Affica, Recognises the Power and Potential of Adolescent Girls in Celebration of the "2023 International Day of the Girl Child".

Today, the world comes together to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, marking a significant milestone in the history of women's empowerment. This annual observance underscores the pivotal role that girls play in society when they are nurtured and empowered to break boundaries.

In her Girl Child Day Speech, Dr. Mrs. Favour Ugwuanyi mni, the Founder and CEO of FAN Foundation, emphasized the importance of this day, stating, "May God grant families the wisdom and means to provide a bright future for their daughters. This day serves as a reminder of our duty to ensure they receive the opportunities and rights they rightfully deserve."

The International Day of the Girl Child recognizes the significance, power, and potential of adolescent girls by advocating for increased opportunities for them. It also  seeks to address the gender-based challenges that girls face worldwide, including issues such as child marriages, limited access to education, violence, and discrimination.

"Celebrated globally, this day provides an essential platform for underprivileged girls to raise their voices and demand equality in terms of rights, education, and health. It serves as a catalyst for advancing girls' human rights and spotlighting gender-related issues," said Dr. Favour.
