Mrs Ihuoma Eze, Applauds Gov. Peter Mbah's Supreme Court Triumph


Enugu State's political landscape witnessed jubilation as the Supreme Court of Nigeria delivered its final verdict on the gubernatorial election, solidifying the victory of Governor Peter Mbah. Mrs. Ihuoma Eze, the Enugu APPEALS Project Coordinator, celebrated this ruling, terming it a triumph for democracy and the will of the people.


The Supreme Court's decision brought an end to a prolonged legal battle, particularly centering around the authenticity of Governor Peter Mbah's NYSC certificate. Mrs. Eze, expressing her elation, conveyed heartfelt congratulations to Governor Mbah, emphasizing the significance of the ruling in dispelling uncertainties that lingered over Enugu State's political future.


The apex court clarified that the submission of the NYSC certificate to INEC was not a requisite for Governor Mbah's qualification, standing firmly behind the integrity of the election process. Mrs. Ihuoma Eze hailed this as a victory not just for Governor Peter Mbah but for the democratic principles that underpin the nation's electoral system.


"Barr. Peter Mbah's victory remains steadfast, reinforcing the democratic process and the judicial endorsements of electoral decisions at different levels," remarked Mrs. Eze in her congratulatory message. With legal challenges behind, Governor Peter Mbah can now dedicate his efforts to governance, assured of the legitimacy of his position as affirmed by the tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler.
