Enugu State House of Assembly Former Speaker, Recognized for Cultural Stewardship & Leadership Excellence, Rewarded by Udi Ancient Kingdom with Chieftaincy Title


 In a grand ceremony held in Udi Ancient Kingdom, Rt. Hon. Chief Chinedu Nwamba, a distinguished former Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, has been honored with the prestigious title of "Nwachimereze 1 of Udi Ancient Kingdom" by His Royal Majesty Igwe Sam Aneke.

Described as "the light that illuminates in the Society," Chief Nwamba's chieftaincy title symbolizes recognition for his significant contributions to Igbo cultural preservation, humanitarian activities, and outstanding leadership during his tenure in the state assembly.

During the coronation, Igwe Sam Aneke highlighted Chief Nwamba's commitment to Human Capital Development, Peace, and Unity, emphasizing the importance of his role in reinforcing community bonds. The newly crowned chief was lauded for protecting the interests of diverse groups during his political career.

The women of the community celebrated their beloved chief, hailing him as "the light that illuminates beyond his immediate community" and praying for God's wisdom for his peaceful leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Chinedu Nwamba expressed gratitude for the meritorious Royal Chieftaincy Title, pledging to create additional societal pillars for sustainable development and peace. The event also featured a Royal Grand Reception and was attended by dignitaries, including past and present political figures, traditional rulers, and notable personalities from Enugu State.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler. According to the communiqué, the council expressed deep embarrassment over Onukaibe's self-presentation to the Chairman of Nkanu East LGA, labeling it as an act of impersonation and emphasizing that he was never nominated, selected, or recommended by the community for such a role.
