Hon John Ogbodo Receives Massive Endorsement as Nkanu West PDP Flag Off Campaign on Thursday

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nkanu West Local Government Area took a significant step toward securing victory in the upcoming Enugu State Council elections with a successful campaign outing earlier today. Held at Nvu-Amakpu Agbani and Amurri, the flag-off was attended by political leaders, party supporters, and community members, all rallying behind the PDP’s Chairmanship candidate, Honourable John Chukwuma Ogbodo.

Ogbodo, in his captivate and passionate speech, emphasized the need for inclusive governance, a key tenet of his campaign. He highlighted the importance of bringing all communities together under a unified administration to ensure equitable development.

“Today marks a new beginning for Nkanu West. Our mission is to ensure that no community is left behind. Inclusiveness is at the core of my vision, and with your support, we will continue the remarkable work started by Governor Peter Mbah,” Ogbodo declared.

Ogbodo’s speech was met with enthusiastic applause, as he praised Governor Mbah's leadership, noting that the recent infrastructural developments, like the new asphalt plant, were clear indicators of the governor’s dedication to the state’s progress.

Hon. Ogbodo further pledged that if elected, his administration would prioritize inclusiveness, ensuring that every community within the local government is adequately represented. “We will run an inclusive government where every voice is heard and no community is left behind in our development agenda,” he assured.

At the event, Professor Jehu Nnaji, a respected scholar in international law, also took the stage, offering his support for Ogbodo's candidacy. He praised Ogbodo’s vision for inclusive governance and the strong synergy between local leadership and Governor Mbah’s administration.

“Honourable Ogbodo is the kind of leader we need—someone who understands the importance of community-driven development. His vision for inclusiveness is aligned with global best practices,” Nnaji said.

Local leaders and community members shared their excitement for the future under Ogbodo’s leadership. Obinna Eze, a farmer from Agbani, expressed hope that agriculture would flourish with Ogbodo at the helm, while Ifeoma Nnamene, a trader, believed that Ogbodo’s administration would open new opportunities for local businesses and women entrepreneurs.

Youth participation in governance was also highlighted by Barrister Victor Ogbodo-Evu, who emphasized the need for leaders to engage the younger generation in meaningful ways. He was confident that Ogbodo would create opportunities for the youth, building on the solid foundation laid by Governor Mbah.

The campaign flag-off graced by a host of notable figures and PDP bigwigs from across Nkanu West Local Government Area, including former Chairman of Old Nkanu LGA, Dr. Chika Okenwa-Ani, who urged voters to stand behind the PDP. His Royal Highness Igwe Okechukwu Nwobodo Egbune performed the traditional breaking of kola nuts, symbolizing peace and unity among the people. Other dignitaries present included Friday Nnam, Deputy Chairmanship candidate, Deaconess Ifeoma Nwobodo, former Chief of Staff to ex-Governor Sullivan Chime, as well as former Nkanu West Council Chairmen Ekene Okenwa, Dr. Chika Igwesi, and Sunday Ugwu.

While the campaign progresses, PDP's campaign train is expected to make several other stops in Ammuri, Amodu, and Umueze Wards to connect with more grassroots supporters. The momentum from today's outing has left many confident that the party's message of development, unity, and inclusiveness will resonate across the LGA as election day approaches.
