Why I Poisoned My Mother, Grandmother, Sister And Niece – Enugu Man Confesses

A young man, identified as Anaegbuachara, has confessed to poisoning and killing his mother, grandmother, sister, and niece for a money ritual in Amaeze village, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State. The tragic incident occurred on September 1, 2024, when the victims consumed a poisoned meal that had been prepared by the suspect. The victims—his mother, grandmother, sister, and two children—shared the meal the night before the incident, unaware of the danger it posed.

According to Anaegbuachara, he was instructed by a native doctor from Agbani, Nsukka, who hails from Kogi State, to carry out the killings as part of a ritual for wealth. He claimed that his friend, identified only as ‘Morroco,’ had connected him to the native doctor, who provided the poison for the act. The native doctor allegedly told the suspect that his mother needed to be sacrificed in exchange for wealth.

However, on the same day, the suspect's sister and her two children, who had visited their mother, also ate the poisoned food. The tragic result was the deaths of all four victims. The only survivor, a young child around 9 years old, was taken to the hospital but has since been left mentally unstable, reportedly suffering from the trauma.

Anaegbuachara confessed to the crime and asked for forgiveness, as he was paraded around the community before being taken to his mother’s tomb, where he knelt and begged for her forgiveness. The native doctor who allegedly masterminded the ritual has been arrested.
