BREAKING: President Tinubu Signs Bill Establishing New Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni



President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially signed into law a bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni, Rivers State.

This development follows a meeting between President Tinubu and Ogoni leaders at the State House in Abuja on January 21, 2025. During the meeting, the President highlighted the importance of unity and reconciliation, urging the Ogoni people to set aside historical grievances and work together for peace, development, and environmental restoration.

“We cannot in any way rewrite history, but we can correct some anomalies of the past going forward. We cannot heal the wounds if we continue to be angry,” Tinubu stated.

The newly established institution, located in Ogoni, Rivers State, will focus on environmental studies, sustainable development, and innovative technologies aimed at addressing ecological challenges.
