Family Lists N120 As Bride Price For Daughter



A Nigerian lady, Confidence Utomi, has shared the marriage list her family gave to her husband when he came to ask for her hand in marriage.

“I was cleaning our bedroom this morning when I found the Marriage List my Family gave to my Husband. Truth be told, Urhobo Marriage Bride Price List is the most budget-friendly list I have ever seen,” she wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday.

She added that her family made the traditional marriage process stress-free, stating:

“No too much serere. I don’t know about others, but our elders don’t give headaches when it comes to asking for their daughters’ hand in marriage.”

Confidence further revealed that her husband easily fulfilled all the requirements on the list before the wedding day, with the bride price set at just N120.

“When my husband saw this list, it didn’t take him time to achieve everything on it. As a matter of fact, he bought and presented everything before the traditional wedding date and only paid the dowry on the deal day.”

To the couple’s surprise, after paying the N120 bride price, her family returned N20 to the groom, emphasizing that their daughters are not for sale.

She concluded by praising Urhobo women, advising men who are married to one to value them highly.

“If you have one Urhobo woman already, hold am tight. We are the best.”
