Dr. Johnpaul Anih, Other Labour Party Members Return To PDP, Hail Gov. Mbah's Exceptional Leadership Qualities

"The administration of Gov. Peter Mbah has started to correct some past mistakes and this informs our decision to come back to PDP" this was the statement of the former Labour Party Candidate for Nkanu West LG State Constituency in the 2023 election, Dr. Johnpaul Anih at a well attended event to welcome him and his supporters back to PDP at Akpugo ward 5.

Dr. Anih said that the correction by Gov.Peter Mbah resulted to the emergence of the incumbent chairman of Nkanu West LG, Hon. Chief John Chukwuma Ogbodo and the return of the former Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in the last general election, Hon. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga saying that things ought to be done without prejudice to accommodate all.

He said that time of party politics is over, that it is now for governance stating that Governor Peter has surpassed his expectations of his administration when evaluated the governor's achievement within his first two years in office.

Dr. Anih pointed out the quality of work at the different ongoing construction of Smart Green School in Akpugo and all other life changing projects of the governor comparing the massive nature of the Smart Green School to some university structures.

He appealed to the government to come to the rescue  of his community by fixing their borehole as it was vandalized causing hardship to access to portable water.

In his remarks, the former Labour Party gubernatorial candidate for Enugu State, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga expressed happiness to witness the welcome back event barely one week after his return to PDP family emphasized that the event is the first PDP meeting he attended after his return to the party.

Hon. Edeoga said that he came personally to support Dr. Anih whom he described as a good friend saying that Dr. Anih appreciated his decision to come back to PDP and wished to equally return to "their" party.

Hon. Edeoga said his decision to return to PDP was because of Governor Peter Mbah's leadership qualities and style of governance stressing that the governor is doing well, that "if we follow him our state will be better for it"

He said that one must not win all the time but should accept his fate as the will of God and accept that fate with the spirit of sportsmanship.

"We are now for the  peace and progress of Enugu, no more pride but with humility we will move forward, there are no more bitterness, bickerings, fight and party tussles" Edeoga stated.

He thanked Governor Mbah for providing the enabling environment for the return of Labour Party members in the state, also thanked the Nkanu West LG Chairman, Hon. Ogbodo, party leadership in the local government, ward and party members for facilitating and welcoming Labour Party members back to their fold.

In his speech, the council chairman, Hon. Ogbodo expressed happiness for the returnees saying that their return will strengthen the party in the local government and would making his job of winning 2027 election easy.

Ogbodo described Gov. Mbah as a peace loving man who work tirelessly to ensure that all persons who left the party should be reached and pleaded to come back.

"The Governor has instructed all council chairman  to woo all  members of our great party who left the party to return stating that whoever left the party must have some reasons to leave the party and to make sure that all returnees to be accorded respect and be given all their privileges and rights without any form of discrimination" the council boss said.

Ogbodo promised to fix the vandalized borehole and even drill more boreholes for different communities in Akpugo.

In their separate speeches, the LG party chairman, Hon. Sunday Onovo, the Media Aids to to Governor Mbah, Mr. Dan Nwomeh, former Deputy Rector, IMT Chief Fidelis Okafor, Chief Moses Aniemeka expressed gratitude to the Gov. Mbah for love for party unity and peace in the state which resulted in bringing back former members of the party to strengthen the party for all round victories.

Meanwhile, earlier the council chairman was present at Akpugo ward 2 to receive some members of Labour Party and other parties who returned to PDP.

The colourful event was witnessed by the local government Chief Of Staff, Barr. Chidi Anih, councillors of various wards in Akpugo,. stakeholders and party faithful.
