TRAGEDY!! Enugu Community Mourns as Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Reportedly Hack Innocent Farmer to Death

Enugu Community Mourns as Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Reportedly Hack Innocent Farmer to Death:

Adani, a once-peaceful agrarian community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, has been thrown into mourning once again. Dieke Emenike, a hardworking farmer and father, met a gruesome end at the hands of suspected Fulani herdsmen while returning from his farm, a place that should have symbolized sustenance and hope for his family.

The chilling news was shared by Barrister Vincent Diugwu, a former administrator of the zone and a former Senior Special Assistant to the Enugu State Governor. His post painted a picture of sorrow and loss, revealing that Mr. Emenike, originally from Asaba, was not just a victim of violence but a devoted father whose sudden death leaves his children orphaned. His eldest child, barely a teenager, is in JSS 1, now forced to navigate life without the guidance and support of a father.

This is not just another news report. It is the story of a man who tilled the land to provide for his family, a man whose dreams have been cut short, and a family now left in despair. It is a cry for help from a community that has seen too much bloodshed, a call for urgent intervention before more lives are lost.

In his Facebook post Emmanuel Onyekachi Stated "Dear People of Adani, What Is Happening In Your Town?"

The rising tension in Uzo-Uwani demands immediate action from authorities, community leaders, and security agencies. How many more fathers, sons, and brothers must be lost before real solutions are implemented?

The people of Adani are grieving, but beyond grief, they are pleading for security, for justice, for a future where farms do not become graveyards and where children do not have to grow up too soon.

Prayer without work is a waste. The government of Uzo-Uwani needs to stand aggressively and secure our farms and villages. It's no longer about destroying farms worth millions of naira it is now a case of killing and kidnapping of our people. We can't continue to pretend about this, deceiving ourselves that all is well when all is getting rotten on daily basis. The reason I can't keep quiet is that it could be anyone tomorrow. It's not time for political defense, it's time to tell ourselves the bitter truth. We are becoming gradually subdued day by day. Our parents are no longer going to farm to fend for themselves, they are now placing excessive reliance on us that are battling with the high cost of living in the city. My siblings are equally depending on me, these are people that do send foodstuffs as a surprise to us in the city. Today, they, their friends and neighbors are all calling for financial assistance because they can't eat anymore. Is that why I should keep quiet? If the issue is becoming intractable that the council doesn't know what to do, he should resort to the assistance of the state government. Gov. Peter Mbah is not someone that sleeps when an issue of insecurity is brought before him.

Where are the 320 vigilantes that were rolled out in this Uzo-Uwani, what are their functions? Where are the forest guards, what are they doing? What logistics are provided for these local security? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

What is Martins Okey who is representing us in Abuja doing? If we can't find solace now that we have a southern president, is it when the North takes over that we will have one?

Where is the state house of assembly member representing Uzo-Uwani, Hon. Chukwuma Ekwueme, what is he doing? How many of you stakeholders of Uzo-Uwani have called for an emergency meeting since the sons and daughters of Uzo-Uwani are being murdered, kidnapped and subjected to all manner of inhuman treatments? What happened to my farm this year is enough to take a man to square zero, I sent the videos to all these people, what effort has been made to avoid future occurrence. Our mothers are dying in pains and starvation, what relief has come to them? The Youth of Uzo-Uwani that invested in agriculture and had their farms turned to rubbles, who is to pay them, what should be their fate in the face of this biting and excruciating economy? Uzo-Uwani leaders, I hope you haven't lost your voice?

As for the Chairman of Uzo-Uwani, you may be doing a lot but your lot is not good enough. Who are your think-thanks in Uzo-Uwani? What is the welfare package of these security personnel? How far has the youth been engaged in stemming this tide. The Head of the DSS at the national level said the villagers and the communities should be equipped to fight the insecurity, how have we been engaged? What is the level of your stakeholders' engagement? I wish we are not a conquered people.

Last but not the least, the 5 Distress Response Squad vehicles governor Mbah deployed in Uzo-Uwani, why is it that none is in Adani where the insecurity is gradually gaining ascendancy? Adani Police Station is the mother of all and the community shares bother with states. Why are they all domiciled at Nimbo when from Opanda to Adani is always a flashpoint of what has been happening? Adani Police Station can not parade upto 10 policemen in totality, what has been done to ensure that more are deployed to combat this insecurity. The operating vehicle in Adani regularly receives the touch of a mechanic before it starts, is it how they will be at alert to combat these miscreants? Let's call a spade a spade and a fork by its name.
