Enugu Farmers Empowered with Free Export Business Training and High-Yield Seedlings Seminar By Ski-Business Solutions Limited and Partners.

 

In a significant effort to boost the economic prospects of local farmers in Nsukka, Enugu State, a seminar powered by Ski-Business Solutions Ltd and partners, including the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and Udoamaka Diogbe Farmers Multi-purpose Cooperative Society Limited, was conducted. The seminar aimed to equip 120 local farmers with the knowledge and skills necessary to explore the export market and maximize their profits.

The event featured Dr. Uchenna Anikwe, an Export Consultant with Ski-Business Solutions Ltd and the Traditional Ruler of Diogbe Community, emphasizing the importance of tapping into the export market to enhance the nation's economy. He stressed the value of processing local produce to international standards, which could result in hard currency earnings and more lucrative farming practices.

The seminar introduced the farmers to quick-growing and high-yield seedlings for palm fruits and jumbo-cashew nuts, aiming to improve yields and meet international specifications. The participants were encouraged to adopt proper preservation and packaging methods for their produce to reduce waste and enhance the region's export potential.

Representatives from NEPC and the Raw Materials Research and Development Council also provided valuable insights on effective export strategies and the significance of research and innovation in streamlining operations.

The enthusiastic participants expressed their gratitude for the enlightening seminar and believed it would inspire more farmers to become exporters, potentially leading to a shift from importers to exporters in the South-East region. Many attendees urged for more such events to uplift the economic status of rural farmers and alleviate poverty in the area.

Ski-Business Solution's Consultant highlighted the potential for local produce to meet international standards and contribute to the farmers' income, while mentioning the forthcoming Domestic Export Warehouse in Akwuke community, Enugu State, aimed at facilitating international export trade within the South-East region.

The overall aim of the seminar was to empower local farmers, boost the nation's economy, and promote sustainable agricultural practices for effective export businesses in Nsukka and its surroundings.
