In a remarkable display of compassion and dedication, the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme has yet again proven its commitment to the well-being of Enugu  citizens. Championed by former Enugu State Governor, His Excellency Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the program has successfully delivered critical medical interventions for individuals in need.

On August 13th, the Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital in Nsukka was witness to another success of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, where an 88-year-old man and a young boy received life-changing medical care. Chief Okeafor Martins, aged 88, underwent a successful herniorrhaphy to treat his left inguinoscrotal hernia. Similarly, Eze Chinedu Patrick, aged 28, underwent a procedure to address his right inguinal hernia, resulting in a successful herniorrhaphy. Both beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude and extended blessings to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his life-saving support.

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's commitment to this impactful initiative remains steadfast, even after his time in office. Dr. George Ajogwu, Director-General of Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, confirmed that the former Governor continues to sponsor the program, collaborating with his successor, Gov. Peter Mbah. This ongoing endeavor aims to provide essential medical procedures for less privileged citizens in Enugu, ensuring access to quality healthcare.

This recent success is just one among many. Earlier on August 6th and 7th, the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme intervened to save lives in the Enugu North Senatorial Zone, conducting surgeries that changed the lives of both children and adults. Procedures included treatments for hydroceles, hernias, lipomas, and more.

The impact of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's humanitarian efforts is undeniable. His unwavering dedication to the welfare of Enugu State's citizens, extending even beyond his time in office, continues to bring about positive change in the lives of numerous individuals. Dr. Ajogwu reiterated that Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, fondly known as Gburugburu, is indeed a blessing to Enugu State.
