BREAKING NEWS: Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi Kicks off February Activities of Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme with Three Successful Surgeries


The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, founded and sponsored by the former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has embarked on its February series of surgical interventions, marking another chapter in its ongoing mission to provide life-saving medical care to the people of Enugu. 

Following the successful conclusion of its January series on the 31st of January 2024, which saw over 70 beneficiaries receiving critical surgical procedures, along with over 300 beneficiaries from medical outreaches in Igbo-Eze South and Udenu Local Government Areas, the programme continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to the well-being of the community. 


As reported by Fountaincare Reporters on Friday, the 2nd of February, 2024, the February series commenced with three individuals who underwent life-saving surgeries, each with their own unique medical conditions.


Appreciation Response from Beneficiary Aniebonam James


Aniebonam James, reachable at 08163355322, hailing from Ojor, expressed profound gratitude for the surgical intervention that removed a complicated abnormal growth from his chest and neck. Overwhelmed with relief, James conveyed his heartfelt thanks to Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the entire team behind the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. He remarked that the programme's dedication to humanity has truly transformed his life and relieved him of a significant burden.


Appreciation Response from Beneficiary Eze Desmond


Eze Desmond, a 15-year-old from Iheakpu Awka, reachable at 08039229744, had been burdened since birth by an abnormal growth on the back of his ear. Following the successful surgical removal of this growth, Desmond expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to live without the discomfort and stigma associated with his condition. He extended his thanks to everyone involved in the programme, emphasizing the profound impact it has had on his life and well-being.


Appreciation Response from Beneficiary Ifebuchechukwu Ugwu


Ifebuchechukwu Ugwu, reachable at 08134500191, from Eha-Alumona, underwent correction for a left Hydrocoele of the cord. In the wake of this life-changing surgery, Ugwu conveyed his sincere appreciation to Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for initiating and sustaining the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. He expressed gratitude for the programme's provision of accessible healthcare, which has alleviated the financial burden and restored hope to countless individuals like himself.


The Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, Dr. George Ajogwu, extended commendations to the programme's founder, highlighting the immense impact of his humanitarian initiative in rescuing hundreds of Enugu citizens in Supportof the current administration of His Excellency, Barr Peter Mbah and Deputy, His Excellency, BarrIfeanyiOssai. 


Dr. Ajogwu also expressed gratitude to the current Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah, and his Deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, for their leadership and development efforts in various sectors, including healthcare. He emphasized the collaborative efforts driving progress and transformation across the state, including ongoing projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and services for the benefit of all residents.


According Dr Ajogwu, "2023 is promising and we cannot wait for the Transformational Agenda of the current government to continue to unfold, February is yet another Month for the continuation of the healthcare initiative to reach out to more lives and we are calling on Enugu residents not to hesitate in reaching out to us anytime they need our life-saving services" he concluded.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler.
