RT HON PAUL NNAJIOFOR LAUDS GOV PETER MBAH’S INNOVATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS IN ONE YEAR


Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor, a former member of the Enugu State House of Assembly, has publicly lauded the Enugu State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Peter Mbah, for his unprecedented and unparalleled achievements within just one year in office. In a Media Statement released and signed by the Ex-Lawmaker himself, Hon. Nnajiofor detailed the visible infrastructural developments and transformative initiatives undertaken by the Mbah administration such as restoration of security, provision of water, human capital development, rural transformation, repositioning education, agricultural revolution for food production, enthroning peace and order.


He called on Ndi Enugu to be supportive to the Mbah's innovative government of the day, "for us to see ourselves as share holders of the Enugu State project, we must be conscious of the fact that a government succeeeds with the citizens working as partners. Let us join hands with His Excellency Gov Peter Mbah to realise bis lofty dreams of making Enugu State the prefered destination for investment, business. economic opportunities , tourism and living" the ex-lawmaker said.


"Governor Mbah has placed a high priority on the safety and security of Enugu’s citizens. His administration has integrated modern technology to enhance the state's security landscape. Notable efforts include plans for the procurement and deployment of surveillance cameras across major roads in Enugu urban areas. The launch of the Distress Response Squad (DRS) for rapid response to distress calls ensures swift action during emergencies. Successfully terminating the illegal Monday sit-at-home order enforced by non-state actors marks a significant achievement in restoring normalcy. Additionally, the police fleet has been upgraded with modern vehicles and equipment, and ongoing training programs are enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of security personnel. These measures underscore Governor Mbah's commitment to leveraging technology for the safety and prosperity of Enugu's citizens.


In an impressive turnaround, the Mbah administration commissioned the 9th Mile 24/7 water scheme within 180 days of taking office. This project, capable of producing 70 million litres of water per day, marks a significant milestone in ensuring a reliable water supply to the state metropolis. Ongoing efforts aim to reticulate this water supply to homes, renewing hope for accessible and sustainable water resources. Furthermore, Governor Mbah’s administration has made significant strides in human development. Scholarships have been awarded to deserving students and citizens, fostering educational advancement. The construction of smart schools across the state’s 260 wards aims to shift from traditional chalk-and-board methods to modern ICT-based education, preparing a generation of tech-competent individuals.


A significant focus has been placed on revolutionizing Enugu’s road infrastructure. Within just four months of assuming office, Governor Mbah initiated the construction of over 70 roads in both urban and rural areas. This ambitious project aims to upgrade existing roads to ensure durability and safety, as well as construct new roads to enhance connectivity between rural and urban regions, fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents. Additionally, plans are underway for the construction of bus terminals, which are expected to streamline the transportation system and boost annual revenue for the state.


Governor Mbah's vision includes an agricultural revolution aimed at boosting food production, thereby securing food availability and economic stability. His administration is also working towards positioning Enugu as a prime destination for investment, tourism, and economic opportunities, further elevating the state’s profile. Other notable achievements include initiatives in human capital development, rural transformation, and the repositioning of education to build a competent and capable workforce for the future.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler.
