ZONING CHAIRMAN AND VICE-CHAIRMAN TO ONE PLACE, UNHEALTHY----Igbo-Eze South cries out


It is no longer news that Igbo-Eze South, for days now, has been on the news for injustice and marginalization.

The chairmanship rotational system between the East and the West which kept the council area politically stable has been bastardized for some years now.

Each of the two zones has eight wards yet in the last twelve (12) years the Eastern zone of Igbo-Eze South has ruled for ten (10) years while the Western zone has ruled for only two (2) years.

Today again, both the Chairmanship and the Vice-Chairmanship positions have been zoned again to the East even when the immediate past council Chairman is from the same East.

Where is the justice ?

Where is the fairness ?

Where is the inclusiveness ?

Delving into other positions in the past will convince every sane mind that the Western part of Igbo-Eze is only merely existing in the council area.

The injustice and marginalization has persisted for so long.

His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah remains an admired leader whose stance has always shown fairness, equity, transparency and justice.

The good people of the Western part of Igbo-Eze South are crying to him to save us from this age-long oppression. 

We pray him to bring to bear the fairness and justice he has enthroned in other local government areas, to Igbo-Eze South too.


The entire local government since this news broke out has been raging in dead silence and it is unhealthy. Even the Eastern counterparts who are detribalized share in the sorry situation of the West.


We call on the Governor, the leader of our party to rescue the West from this grave injustice and marginalization. 

We urge His Excellency, the Governor to review, revisit and reverse the proposed zoning. That will strengthen the fortunes of PDP in the local government and it will be a proof that we are part of the system.


Rescue the West !

Save Igbo-Eze South !

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler. According to the communiqué, the council expressed deep embarrassment over Onukaibe's self-presentation to the Chairman of Nkanu East LGA, labeling it as an act of impersonation and emphasizing that he was never nominated, selected, or recommended by the community for such a role.
