BREAKING: Dr Ben Nwoye Annuls All Suspensions of APC Members, Moves to Reunite Enugu Chapter

The internal crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State took a dramatic twist on Saturday as the newly appointed Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, officially overturned all disciplinary actions and suspensions previously imposed on members by the dissolved Ugochukwu Agballa-led executive.
Addressing a massive crowd of party faithful at the APC State Secretariat in Enugu, Dr. Nwoye—who once served as the party’s state chairman—described the past suspensions as “a political comedy” that weakened the structure and unity of the APC in Enugu.
“How can you suspend the very people you need to win elections?” he asked rhetorically, drawing thunderous applause from party members and stakeholders present.
Declaring that all forms of suspension—whether through letters, radio announcements, or social media—stand null and void, Nwoye emphasized that his leadership would focus on reconciliation, reintegration, and rebuilding trust among members.
“This is not a season for revenge or exclusion. There is no victor, no vanquished. Our mission is to bring back every member who felt neglected or unfairly treated and rebuild our house together,” he stated.
Dr. Nwoye disclosed that his appointment by the National Working Committee (NWC) came with a clear directive to restore unity and stability to the Enugu chapter of the party ahead of key political contests.
He further observed that the political environment in Enugu has changed significantly under Governor Peter Mbah’s administration, stressing that the APC must reposition itself to remain relevant and competitive in the evolving political landscape.
“Governor Mbah’s emergence has changed the dynamics of Enugu politics. APC cannot afford to remain divided or silent. With the right strategy and a united front, we can set the agenda and influence the state’s political direction,” Nwoye affirmed.
The announcement sparked jubilation among members, many of whom hailed the move as a long-awaited step toward peace and revival within the party.
Political analysts believe that Nwoye’s return as caretaker chairman could signal a new phase of reconciliation and restructuring in the Enugu APC, as grassroots mobilization and bridge-building efforts are expected to intensify in the weeks ahead.
