Enugu ALGON Chairman Reaffirms Resolute Support of LGA Chairmen for Governor Peter Mbah’s Visionary Leadership

 The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu State Chapter, Hon. Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, has reaffirmed the unflinching support.and unalloyed loyalty of all local government chairmen for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, describing him as the embodiment of purposeful and visionary leadership in Enugu State.

   ‎Speaking to newsmen on Sunday, October 12, 2025, regarding the rumoured defection of the governor to the APC, Hon. Edeh stated that what truly matters is that the governor is delivering on his campaign promises and the people are satisfied with his performance.

‎He explained that political parties are merely vehicles that carry people to their destination, but do not define the quality of governance in Enugu State. 

   According to him, the 17 local government chairmen stand firmly behind Governor Mbah and will support any decision he makes, as he remains the only political party Ndi Enugu recognize today.

‎ “Mbah leads, we follow,” Hon. Edeh affirmed.


‎He commended Governor Mbah for his transformative policies and consistent commitment to the development of Enugu State, applauding his achievements in infrastructure, economic empowerment, and transparent governance—initiatives that have earned him the trust and admiration of Ndi Enugu.

‎ “Governor Peter Mbah is not just a leader; he is the political compass guiding Enugu State toward progress and prosperity,” Hon. Edeh stated. “His vision is clear, and Ndi Enugu stand firmly behind him, ready to support his initiatives and follow his leadership in any direction he takes us.”

‎Hon. Edeh’s remarks highlight the growing confidence in Governor Mbah’s administration, which has prioritized sustainable development and inclusive governance since inception. The governor’s forward-thinking policies across education, healthcare, and urban renewal continue to address the needs of both urban and rural communities across the state.

‎He further emphasized that the unity and confidence in Governor Mbah’s leadership have strengthened collaboration between the state government and local government councils, resulting in a more cohesive and effective governance framework.

‎ “The progress of Enugu State depends on our collective resolve to support a leader who has demonstrated competence, integrity, and vision,” Hon. Edeh said. “Governor Mbah has shown a steadfast commitment to the welfare of Ndi Enugu, and we must reciprocate that commitment by aligning with his vision for a greater Enugu.”

Enugu: Finally, Suspected Killers of Ogbete Market Chairman Arrested

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects linked to the killing of Mr. Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders’ Association (OMMATA).    Residents of  Ikedinkpa Affa , a community in  Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State , have raised alarm over an alleged invasion by suspected  Fulani herdsmen , leading to attacks and heightened tension in the area. In a disturbing video shared online by  Mr. Emeka Amadi , an indigene of the community, he decried the growing insecurity, stating that armed assailants had taken over parts of the community.
