GOOD NEWS! Enugu SME Launches VSAT Training Program 2025 to Build Certified Satellite Broadband Technicians

In a major step toward digital transformation and youth empowerment, the Enugu State Government, in partnership with the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and the Enugu SME Center/Office of Digital Economy, has officially launched the Enugu VSAT Training Program 2025.

The groundbreaking initiative is designed to equip young people across the state with advanced, hands-on skills in satellite communications and broadband (VSAT) technology, marking another milestone in Governor Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah’s mission to position Enugu as a leading hub for innovation and digital inclusion.

According to the statement released by the Enugu SME Center, the 7-day intensive training program will offer participants comprehensive, practical experience in VSAT installation, configuration, and maintenance, as well as field-based troubleshooting, diagnostics, and connectivity deployment. Trainees will also learn to apply satellite technology in real-world telecom and broadband systems — a skill set increasingly vital in Nigeria’s expanding digital economy.

Upon completion, successful participants will be awarded a nationally recognized NIGCOMSAT-endorsed certificate, opening doors to promising career opportunities in digital infrastructure, telecommunications, and tech entrepreneurship.

The program targets young people aged 18–35 who are passionate about technology, connectivity, and creating sustainable value in the ICT sector.

Speaking on the launch, the Enugu SME Center emphasized that the initiative aligns perfectly with Governor Peter Mbah’s visionary leadership in driving Enugu’s digital economy and human capital development agenda. “This program represents our commitment to building a future-ready workforce and ensuring that Enugu’s youth are not just job seekers, but active players in the global technology space,” the statement read.

Enugu: Finally, Suspected Killers of Ogbete Market Chairman Arrested

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects linked to the killing of Mr. Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders’ Association (OMMATA). [VIDEO] Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Invade Enugu Community, Attack Residents

   Residents of  Ikedinkpa Affa , a community in  Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State , have raised alarm over an alleged invasion by suspected  Fulani herdsmen , leading to attacks and heightened tension in the area. In a disturbing video shared online by  Mr. Emeka Amadi , an indigene of the community, he decried the growing insecurity, stating that armed assailants had taken over parts of the community.
