Tragedy: Enugu Lawmaker Assasinated!


Enugu State is currently in a state of mourning as news spreads of the tragic murder of Councilor Nelson Sylvester, widely known as Ofunwa, who represented the Eha-Ulo ward in the Nsukka Local Government Area Legislative Council. The incident occurred on Sunday night at his residence in Eha-AlumonahAccording to preliminary reports, unidentified gunmen stormed the lawmaker's house and unleashed a hail of bullets on him. Fleeing for his life, Ofunwa sought refuge in a nearby compound, but sadly, his lifeless body was discovered there shortly after.


The details surrounding the incident remain unclear, leaving the community in shock and distress. The news of the councilor's assassination has generated heightened tension not only in the town of Eha-Alumonah but also in neighboring communities.


A reliable source, who expressed deep sadness and described the incident as another tragic assassination, stated, "It is heartbreaking; it is too hard for us to swallow. We are in deep agony." The community is grappling with the loss of a dedicated public servant, and residents are left searching for answers and demanding justice.


Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Enugu State, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, for official statements and updates proved unsuccessful. Despite placing calls to the PPRO, he was unavailable to comment at the time of reporting. A text message was also sent to him, but no response had been received.


The killing of Councilor Ofunwa has sent shockwaves throughout Enugu State, raising concerns about the safety of public officials and the overall security situation in the area. Residents are calling on law enforcement agencies to swiftly investigate the incident, apprehend the perpetrators, and ensure that justice is served.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom.
