GBURUGBURU FREE SURGERY PROGRAMME: Three Successful Surgeries Bring Joy and Gratitude at Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital


Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital in Nsukka, Enugu State, witnessed moments of immense joy and gratitude as three individuals benefited from the life-changing Gburugburu Free Surgery Program.

Mrs. Ugwu Bernardine Chinedu, a 46-year-old woman who had been battling Endometrial cancer and prolonged bleeding for several years, found new hope on Saturday, September 9, 2023, when she underwent a successful total abdominal Hysterectomy, thanks to the Gburugburu Free Surgery Program.

The Gburugburu Free Surgery Program, dedicated to improving the lives of Enugu State residents, also performed surgeries on two other beneficiaries on Thursday, September 8, 2023. The first beneficiary, 15-year-old Ezugwu Chidimma, received a successful lipoma removal surgery from her back. The second beneficiary, 28-year-old Ugwu Abel Kosi, underwent a procedure to repair a right inguinal hernia. These surgeries mark yet another testament to the commitment of the Enugu State government to the well-being of its citizens.

The Gburugburu Free Surgery Program has long been a pillar of good governance in Enugu State, with staunch support from His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Throughout his tenure as Governor and continuing to this day, this initiative has been a lifeline for those in need of surgical care, forming an integral part of the broader mission to ensure the well-being of Enugu State's residents under the leadership of His Excellency Barr. Peter Mbah and his Deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai.

All indigenes of Enugu State requiring surgical procedures are encouraged to avail themselves of this generous program. Surgeries are conducted at Chief Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital in Nsukka on Saturdays, Sundays, and Thursdays. Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler. According to the communiqué, the council expressed deep embarrassment over Onukaibe's self-presentation to the Chairman of Nkanu East LGA, labeling it as an act of impersonation and emphasizing that he was never nominated, selected, or recommended by the community for such a role.
