Former Lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor Celebrates Gov. Peter Mbah's Supreme Court Victory



Enugu's Prominent Ex-lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Paul Nnajiofor (Ononenyi), expressed jubilation on Friday following the Supreme Court's resounding affirmation of Gov. Peter Mbah's electoral victory. In a statement, he lauded the judgment as a significant contribution to the enhancement of the country's electoral laws and judicial jurisprudence, dubbing it "The Best Christmas" for the PDP family throughout Enugu State.

Nnajiofor emphasized that the Supreme Court's decision marked the conclusive end to the protracted legal battle surrounding the Enugu State Gubernatorial election. He commended the judiciary for its resilience in strengthening the country's democracy through sound judgments.

In a congratulatory message to Gov. Peter Mbah, the PDP family, and the people of Enugu, Nnajiofor declared, "Congratulations to our Governor & Leader, Barr Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. Congratulations to the PDP family. Congratulations to Ndi Enugu. To God be the glory for the great good thing He has done for us. Peter Mbah is Enugu State Governor for the next 8 years. Thank God it has ended in praise. This is a wonderful Christmas gift to us by God Almighty."

The former lawmaker highlighted the significance of the judgment in bringing an end to "needless bickering, distractions, and litigation" that had surrounded the 2023 Gubernatorial election. With a sense of relief and celebration, Nnajiofor concluded, acknowledging the closure of a chapter and ushering in a season of political stability and progress in Enugu State.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler.
