ENUGU: Former Governor, Ugwuanyi's Community Healthcare Programme, Saves Five Enugu Citizens with Different Surgical Conditions


In a continuous display of commitment to public health, the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, founded by former Governor Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, successfully conducted a series of surgeries on  24th of January, 2024. The program, fueled by Ugwuanyi's unwavering dedication, continues to positively impact the lives of Enugu citizens, even beyond his term in office.

The video report captured the profound gratitude of beneficiaries, showcasing the tangible difference the program has made in the lives of Enugu residents through the dedicated medical team of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme.

Below are the beneficiaries of the 9th Batch of Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme's Surgical Interventions held on Thursday, 24th January 2024; Among them Chima Ojioke with the contact number, 08133406105, Chima hails from mmaku community in Awgu Local Government Council, Enugu State. He had left inguinal hernia with associated Hydrocoele and was corrected through a surgical procedure. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the founder of Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his compassionate intervention that saved him.

Eze Solumtochukwu, a 5-year-old boy (08036550750) from Iheaka Igbo-eze south also benefited from the latest surgical interventions on Thursday. Solumtochukwu was plagued with a left Hydrocoele of the cord, but found succour in Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme that alleviated him from the ugly condition. His family members were filled with relief and joy for the life-changing intervention.

From Imilike Enu hails Udochukwu Victor, 08107221105, who had Right Hydrocoele of the cord which has been troubling him for years. In his testimony, Udochukwu recounted his ordeal, while thanking the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme's medical team for their skill and compassion shown to him as got had his Surgery smoothly done without any financial commitment.

Ugwuanyi Charles 08062927994 from Olido Enugu-Ezike had a complicated abnormal growth on the stomach which he said has been troubling him for a very long time now. He praised the Humanitarian Healthcare Initiative which he has benefited from as his abnormal growth has been successfully removed, making him whole again.

Another beneficiary from Udenu Local Government Area, Eze Stephen 08037384612 from Ohom Orba came to Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme with a left inguinal hernia which was operated on through a herniorrhaphy procedure to save him.

Dr. Ajogwu, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, extended deep appreciation to former Governor Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his ongoing commitment to healthcare. Highlighting Ugwuanyi's critical role in founding and funding the program, Dr. Ajogwu emphasized its profound impact on the lives of Enugu residents. The Director-General commended Ugwuanyi for seamlessly transitioning program activities to support the current administration led by His Excellency, Barr Peter Mbah, and his Deputy, His Excellency Barr Ifeanyi Ossai.

Beyond healthcare, Dr. Ajogwu commended the administration's achievements in various sectors, including healthcare, security, road infrastructure, and economic growth. The Director-General expressed optimism that these transformative efforts would continue to uplift Enugu residents and elevate the state's overall quality of life.
