Enugu: Gburugburu Life-Changing Surgeries Bring Hope to 5 Enugu Residents in Latest Intervention


The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, founded by former Governor Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, achieved yet another milestone on Monday, the 15th day of January 2024.


The program, sustained even after Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's tenure, conducted a series of life-changing surgeries that have left a lasting impact on the lives of several Enugu citizens. One of the highlights was the successful myomectomy performed on Ugwuoke Faith, saving her from the complexities of uterine fibroid.


Ogbonna Ifeoma, expressing overwhelming gratitude, credited the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme for the Cesarean section that not only saved her life but also brought a new life into the world. The generosity of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi was acknowledged as a blessing to the residents of Enugu.


At 73 years old, Okeh Augustine underwent lumpectomy and inguinal herniorrhaphy surgeries, rejuvenating his health. He extended sincere appreciation to the initiative and praised the compassionate leadership of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.


Onodugo Ihemudilimu, another beneficiary, expressed heartfelt thanks for the lumpectomy surgeries received, emphasizing the remarkable dedication of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme to improving the health of Enugu residents.


Dr. Onah Chukwuemeka, a beneficiary himself, commended the program for the lumpectomy surgery and recognized the positive change it brings to the community. He expressed deep gratitude to Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for prioritizing healthcare and supporting initiatives that transform lives.


Dr. George Ajogwu, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, highlighted the vital role of the program in transforming lives and expressed profound appreciation to former Governor Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his continuous dedication to healthcare.


Acknowledging the support from His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah and Deputy Governor Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Dr. Ajogwu commended the present administration for outstanding development strides in healthcare, security, infrastructure, and economic growth, contributing to the prosperity of Enugu State.


The families of the beneficiaries also joined in expressing immense gratitude for the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, which continues to be a beacon of hope, saving lives, and improving the overall well-being of Enugu residents.
