Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme Storms Igbo-Eze South LGA, Conducts Life-saving Medical Outreach


In a testament to accessible healthcare, the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, founded by former Enugu State Governor Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, conducted a life-changing medical outreach in Igbo-Eze South LGA on Saturday, January 20th. The event drew a massive crowd, receiving praise from community leaders and medical professionals.

The Igwe of Ejuona Ovoko Autonomous Community, HRH. Igwe Joseph Arua, commended the efforts of Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in prioritizing the health of Enugu State citizens. Over 120 community members benefited from the outreach, addressing various health needs, including Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Epilepsy, Typhoid fever, Malaria, Urinary tract infection, and more.

Dr. George Ajogwu, Director of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, expressed gratitude for the success of the outreach, highlighting the collaborative spirit between community members and medical professionals. He reiterated the commitment of Rt. Hon l. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to accessible healthcare.

The initiative aligns seamlessly with the current administration's dedication to the health needs of Enugu State citizens under the visionary leadership of Governor Barr Peter Mbah and Deputy Governor Barr Ifeanyi Ossai.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler. According to the communiqué, the council expressed deep embarrassment over Onukaibe's self-presentation to the Chairman of Nkanu East LGA, labeling it as an act of impersonation and emphasizing that he was never nominated, selected, or recommended by the community for such a role.
