Reacting to Governor Peter Mbah's prestigious Sun Governor-of-The-Year Award, the Executive Chairman of Enugu State Tourism Board, Dame Rita Mbah, has vociferously showered encomium on Governor Mbah for his well deserved recognition. Dame Rita Mbah minced no words when she boisterously enumerated a myriad of Gov. Mbah’s transformative and revolutionary accomplishments within the short time he’s been in the office, making him one of the most performing Governors, not just in the South East but in Nigeria today. 

“Big Congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Peter Mbah, on receiving the well-deserved Sun Governor-of-The-Year Award. This recognition comes as no surprise to me, as Governor Mbah has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment and dedication to fulfilling his promises to the people of Enugu State," Dame Rita expressed.

Reflecting on Governor Mbah's campaign promises, Dame Rita emphasized on the historic and unusual speed with which Gov. Mbah began delivering on every single one of his commitments to the people of Enugu.


 "During the campaigns, Governor Mbah pledged to uplift Enugu State and improve the lives of its citizens. His words were expectedly greeted with the usual attitudinal apathy and lackadaisical reaction to political campaign promises in our part of the world. Nevertheless, without an iota of delay, he hit the ground running, so fast he earned himself the “Catch-Me-If-You-Can Governor” title, as the people of Enugu now struggle to catch up with his quantum leaps in daring economic recovery policies and radical infrastructural development. "Governor Mbah’s strategically disruptive approach to transformative governance has given Enugu State an incredibly redemptive mileage,” she added. 


Dame Rita posited that Governor Mbah’s selfless leadership and total commitment to the socio-economic upliftment of Enugu State has quickly endeared him to the people of Enugu. She expressed rock-solid confidence in the Governor’s visionary leadership, unequivocally stating, "I am certain that more remarkable achievements are yet to come under Governor Mbah's leadership. This prestigious Award and the many others yet to come, are clear pointers to Governor Mbah’s relentless and unbridled desire to make Enugu one of the best states in Nigeria. Evidently, the people of Enugu have suddenly become extravagantly optimistic and it can only get better,” she said. 

Governor Peter Mbah received The Sun Governor of the Year 2023 award at a distinguished ceremony held in Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, on Saturday, February 17th, 2024. The annual epochal event established to recognize and reward excellence and transformative leadership across diverse disciplines, had among others, the creme de la creme of the corporate and political world in attendance.

In just a few months, like a diamond long lost in the rough, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has shone so bright in so short a time that even the most adamant of skeptics have spontaneously turned believers. Many start out aiming for the skies, but for Governor Mbah, the sky is where the journey begins and the people of Enugu, and indeed South East, have every reason to celebrate because, as the Governor always says, “Tomorrow is Here,” now.

Enugu: Finally, Suspected Killers of Ogbete Market Chairman Arrested

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects linked to the killing of Mr. Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders’ Association (OMMATA). The tragic incident occurred on September 14, 2024, when Mr. Aniagu was shot at Moses Ogbodo Junction near Topland Market in Amaechi, Enugu South Local Government Area.   Parading the suspects at the command headquarters on Friday, the Spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed that the arrests were the result of diligent intelligence work and coordinated efforts between detectives from the Anti-Robbery Section (D9) of the State CID and operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad.   The suspects were identified as Chukwudi Aboshi, a 28-year-old native of Anike in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, and Ani Innocent Ebuka, also known as “Excellent,” a driver and native of Isigwe-Ugbawka in Nkanu East Local Government Area. A dramatic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning at a hotel in Agbani, Enugu State, when a woman, popularly known as Madam Gold , attacked a young lady, Ijeoma Nnamani, over an alleged affair with her sugar boy, identified as Micheal Ozoh. The altercation, which took place around 5 a.m., reportedly began when Madam Gold stormed the hotel, banging on the door of the room occupied by Micheal and Ijeoma.
