Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme Brings Healing and Hope to 4 Enugu Citizens


The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, established by former Governor His Excellency Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, conducted its 26th series of free surgical interventions in Enugu State on April 5th, 2024.

The programme, which aims to provide essential surgical care to those in need, continues to positively impact the lives of Enugu citizens, offering hope and healing to individuals facing medical challenges.

Among the beneficiaries of the latest round of surgeries are:

Eze Ikechukwu from Ovoko, who received successful treatment for a right inguinoscrotal hernia.

Eze Jonas from Ukpata, whose complex condition of a strangulated left inguinoscrotal hernia was effectively addressed.

Bethel Jeremiah from Orba, whose tracheal compression was relieved through skilled intervention.

Attah Ifesichukwu, a 4-year-old from Nru Nsukka, who bravely underwent corrective surgery for a complicated strangulated inguinoscrotal hernia.

Each individual expressed profound gratitude to His Excellency, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and the dedicated medical team for their unwavering commitment to saving lives and restoring health in Enugu State.

While responding to the media, Dr. George Ajogwu, Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, expressed gratitude to His Excellency for his continued support and highlighted the programme's vital role in addressing healthcare needs. Dr. Ajogwu also commended the medical team for their skill and compassion in serving the community.

The success of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme underscores not only the visionary leadership of His Excellency but also the collective effort to prioritize public health in Enugu State under the administration of Governor Barr Peter Mbah and Deputy Governor Barr Ifeanyi Ossai.
