Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme's 2024 29th Series Saves Lives of Four Enugu Citizens Facing Various Health/Surgical Challenges


The Former Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's Initiative Provides Critical Surgical Interventions, Restoring Hope and Health to Four Beneficiaries

The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, founded by Ugwuanyi, has once again made a significant impact in the lives of individuals in Enugu State. The 29th series of surgical interventions, held at the Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital in Nsukka on April 15th, saw four beneficiaries receiving critical surgical procedures, thanks to the visionary leadership of His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the dedicated medical team led by Dr. George Ajogwu.


The beneficiaries, each facing distinct surgical challenges, expressed profound gratitude for the life-changing interventions facilitated by the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme. Okeke Ezekiel, suffering from a lipoma on the chest, Ogbonna Donatus, dealing with an inguinoscrotal hernia and epididymo-orchitis, Mmaduka Chidiogor, battling appendicitis and umbilical hernia, and Iyioke Nnebechi, afflicted with a breast lump, all found relief and hope through the programme's compassionate efforts.


Their testimonies reflect the transformative impact of the initiative, with each beneficiary extending heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the medical team for restoring their health and alleviating their suffering. The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler.
