Ugwuanyi's Humanitarian Healthcare Project Saves Four Lives in 30th Series of 2024 Surgical Intervention at Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital, Nsukka.


The Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, under the funding of former Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has successfully completed its 30th series of Surgical Intervention at the Julius Ajogwu Memorial Hospital in Nsukka. Four individuals, once burdened by various surgical conditions, have been granted a new lease on life, with their medical and financial woes lifted, thanks to this noble initiative.

The beneficiaries of this life-changing endeavor took center stage to express their profound gratitude to His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the dedicated medical team led by the esteemed Dr. George Ajogwu. Among the recipients, Onyedika Ugwuanyi from Alor-ulor, who suffered from a Right inguinoscrotal hernia with associated Hydrocoele, underwent successful correction. Similarly, Ugwuoke Ogechi, hailing from another locality, underwent a Lumpectomy for a Right complex breast lump, alleviating her from the burdensome condition.

Aniebonam Micheal, from Nkpologu, was another beneficiary whose life was transformed through the programme. Afflicted with a left Inguinoscrotal hernia and Right inguinal hernia, Aniebonam underwent corrective procedures, restoring his health and vitality. Additionally, Chinedu Promise, a resident of Nsukka LGA, faced a daunting array of ailments, including a Right ovarian mass, multiple uterine fibroids, and Appendicitis. Through an Exploratory laparotomy, Chinedu's health was restored, marking a triumphant victory over adversity.

In a statement to the press, the Director-General of the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, Dr. George Ajogwu, extended heartfelt appreciation to former Governor His Excellency Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his unwavering commitment to saving lives in Enugu. Dr. Ajogwu underscored the significance of this initiative as a testament to the enduring legacy of good governance, further endorsing the current administration led by His Excellency Barr Peter Mbah and His Deputy, His Excellency Barr Ifeanyi Ossai.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom. The council, in a communiqué released on Saturday, vehemently refuted any endorsement or recognition of Onukaibe for the revered position of traditional ruler.
