Awgu Fomer Mayor, Hon Pedro Nwankwo, Hails the Peaceful Conduct of PDP Chairmanship Election Primaries under Gov Peter Mbah's Administration


The immediate past Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo, has praised the Enugu State Governor, His Excellency Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for ensuring a peaceful and transparent process during the conduct of the Chairmanship election primaries across the 17 Local Government Areas in Enugu State. He commended the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for their commitment to fairness and democracy, highlighting the smooth execution of the primaries as a testament to the governor's leadership and dedication to upholding democratic values.

Hon Nwankwo also extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hon Uchenna Okolo and his running mate, Hon Stanley Uchenna Ezediuto, who have emerged as the PDP flagbearers for the upcoming October Local Government Chairmanship elections in Enugu State. He expressed confidence in their ability to lead and serve the people effectively, noting that their elections reflects the trust and support they have garnered within the party and among the electorates.

In a statement released on August 14, 2024, Hon Pedro Nwankwo expressed his confidence in Hon Uchenna Okolo's leadership capabilities. Nwankwo praised Okolo for his outstanding performance during his tenure as the caretaker committee chairman of the council, highlighting the trust and confidence placed in him by the PDP, party stakeholders, and the citizens of Awgu Local Government Area. According to Nwankwo, Okolo’s emergence as the PDP’s flagbearer is a clear reflection of his capacity to lead and his dedication to the progress of the local government.


Nwankwo further emphasized the importance of party unity and collective effort in ensuring a resounding victory in the forthcoming elections scheduled for October 5, 2024.
