BREAKING! Enugu: Man Remanded in Prison Over Vandalization of Newly Asphalted New-Artisan Road

The Magistrate Court sitting in Nkwo Nike Magistrate Court District has remanded Mr Tochukwu Nzekwe the CEO of TOSHEL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY in prison for conspiracy, deliberate destruction of public property, threat to life and subversion of court invitations and proceedings.

Recall that on the 28th of May 2024,a heavily loaded truck without a tyre and rim was caught destructively running on the newly Asphalted New-Artisan road constructed by the foremost construction company EKETESON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY. The road which was said to be ready for commissioning by the Executive Governor of Enugu State Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on the 29th of May was partly destroyed due to this ugly incidence which subsequently resulted to  postponement of the commissioning by His Excellency.

On the developing story ,it was gathered that this ugly act was deliberately masterminded by a rivalry construction company known as TOSHEL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY owned and managed by Mr Tochukwu Nzekwe.

On the scene of the incidence ,the remorsefully looking truck driver when apprehended by the site monitoring team claimed he was coming back from Ugwuaji Community, had a busted tyre and informed his company manager of his deflated tyre, instead TOSHEL CONSTRUCTION COMPANY's manager ordered him to return the truck to site at all cost ,this directive prompted him to run through the newly Asphalted New-Artisan road speedily with only asle drum thereby causing serious damage on the newly Asphalted road.

Investigation further revealed that this was an orchestrated act aimed at discrediting EKETESON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY on the quality assurance control principle.

Mr Tochukwu Nzekwe, noticing the apprehension of his driver and the damaged truck came to EKETESON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY SITE with over 15 heavily armed mobile Police men , threatening fire and brimstone, boasting he would deal ruthlessly with Chief  Donald Ekete the CEO of EKETESON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.

Instead of aggressive and uncultured reprisals, Chief Donald Ekete through his Lawyer Prince Sunny Onyike Esq sued Tochukwu Nzekwe in Commissioner of Police Vs. Tochukwu Nzekwe & Anor at the Magistrate Court District sitting in Nkwo Nike Enugu East LGA of Enugu State with the aim of getting justice on the damaged asphalted road and to preclude danger to his life.

Mr Tochukwu Nzekwe was subsequently tracked down in his Hotel hide out, arrested and brought to court by some court officials through the warrant of arrest and he was remanded in Enugu Maximum Prison (Correctional Center), the matter was adjourned to October, 2024 from the information gathered.

It is reported that Mr Tochukwu Nzekwe is now cooling off in the Enugu Maximum Prison, otherwise formally called Correctional Centre.
