Fear Grips VeryDarkMan, AsSocial Critic Cries Out for Safety After Address Leak

Martins Otse, popularly known by his social media alias VeryDarkMan (VDM), a renowned Nigerian social critic, has raised alarms over his safety following the public exposure of his residential address. In an emotional video, VDM revealed that the address was leaked online after a cease-and-desist letter intended for him was shared on social media.

The letter, reportedly sent by Mrs. Esinjemiyotan Uruneyonjueyi Atsepoyi, wife of popular figure Mr. Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, known as Mr. Jollof, threatens legal action against VDM. The dispute stems from allegations made by VDM against Mrs. Atsepoyi, sparking widespread controversy. While the letter was not sent directly to him, it was addressed to him or his legal team, and its circulation online has led to unintended consequences.

VDM expressed his concern about his current safety situation, stating that the leak of his address has jeopardized his personal security. In his video, he shared the anxiety of not being able to return home: "I can no longer go home. My current address has been compromised. I am living in a hotel, and I am scared to even go home to pick up my clothes."

This incident adds to the controversies surrounding the critic. VDM had previously caused a stir by releasing an audio recording in which Nigerian cross-dresser Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid N15 million to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against him. The audio went viral and brought significant attention to VDM’s platform.

With his home now exposed to the public, VDM’s latest concern underscores the dangers critics and public figures often face when their personal information is leaked, especially in sensitive disputes involving legal matters and allegations. As of now, the legal threat from Mrs. Atsepoyi remains pending, and VDM’s followers continue to express solidarity as they await further developments in the case.

This evolving situation continues to garner attention from the public and media alike, as many anticipate how it will impact both VDM and the broader conversation surrounding public criticism and privacy.
