BREAKING: Police Conclude Investigation on Igbojah’s Murder, Begin ImmediatebDisciplinary Actions




The Enugu State Police Command has announced the conclusion of its investigation into the tragic shooting and killing of Enugu-based musician, Chikezie Okezie Nwamba, popularly known as Igbojah. According to the command's spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has finalized its investigation into the incident that shocked the community.


Following this development, disciplinary actions have commenced, with the implicated Police Inspector, Ozonwanji Joseph, currently undergoing an orderly room trial. This internal process is expected to guide the next steps in accordance with the Nigeria Police Force's disciplinary procedures. 


Furthermore, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has taken additional measures to address concerns related to the incident. CP Uzuegbu ordered the immediate redeployment of the Officer in Charge of the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad, SP Ekeleme Chidobe. This decision aims to facilitate a thorough review of the squad’s operations, ensuring that future actions align with professional standards.


In his statement, CP Uzuegbu emphasized his commitment to justice in this case and to upholding the highest levels of professionalism among officers within the command. He also urged residents to continue supporting the police as they work towards a just resolution for Igbojah’s family and the community at large. 


This development comes as the community and supporters of Igbojah await a fair and transparent outcome, hopeful that the proceedings will reinforce accountability within the force and offer closure to the grieving family.
