BUDGET PRESENTATION: ALGON Chairman Applauds Governor Mbah

  




Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh the ALGON Chairman and executive chairman of Nkanu East LGA  has applauded Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his exceptional performance in office, describing it as a benchmark for all council chairmen across the state. He emphasized that the governor's commitment to development and transparency sets a high standard, encouraging all local government chairmen to strive for excellence in governance.

    He further urged his colleagues to take inspiration from the governor's initiatives and focus on effective service delivery in their respective local governments. He emphasized on the importance of collaboration between the state and local council chairmen to achieve sustainable development and meet the needs of the citizens.

  He made this statement while answering questions from newsmen on Tuesday 26th, Nov 2024 after budget presentation by Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah tagged "budget of Exponential growth and inclusive prosperity. He reiterated the need for accountability and urged council chairmen to prioritize community engagement in their governance efforts, reinforcing the collective responsibility to elevate the state’s overall progress.

He commended the Governor for his visionary leadership and people oriented government that has  transformed key sectors of the state, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

  He noted that in just a year, Enugu State has witnessed unprecedented growth and development that has had a profound impact on the lives of its citizens.

His tireless dedication to ensuring the welfare of our people has not gone unnoticed, and the positive impact of your leadership is evident in every community and every individual 

He said that the Governor’s transparent and inclusive approach to governance, which has fostered trust between the government and the people, ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard and respected.

 In the spirit of transparency and accountability, today marks a significant step forward as the governor present yet another people oriented proposed budget of N971bn for the 2025 fiscal year to the Enugu State House of Assembly. 

This budget reflects the commitment of the government to address the diverse needs of the citizens and propel the state towards sustainable development, and all round growth.


The chairman said the governor’s focus on education is commendable as no nation can successfully eradicate poverty without improving and strengthen the educational institutions.

The chairman also applauded the governor's announcement of state carrier or state owned airline, saying that it is a positive development.


The ALGON Chairman reiterated the importance of strategic investments in local economies, stating that the budget aligns with the aspirations of the people for improved living standards and economic opportunities.


In conclusion, he expressed optimism that the collaborative efforts between the state and local governments will lead to tangible benefits for the people of Enugu State, paving the way for a brighter future.

Enugu: Finally, Suspected Killers of Ogbete Market Chairman Arrested

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects linked to the killing of Mr. Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders’ Association (OMMATA). A dramatic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning at a hotel in Agbani, Enugu State, when a woman, popularly known as Madam Gold , attacked a young lady, Ijeoma Nnamani, over an alleged affair with her sugar boy, identified as Micheal Ozoh.
