Enugu State to Host CAN 2024 Fourth-Quarter National Executive Council Meeting

 



Enugu State will be the proud host of the Christian Association of Nigeria’s (CAN) Fourth-Quarter National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in 2024. The event is set to take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Jubilee Hall of the Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu State, starting at 10:00 AM prompt.

The Government of Enugu State under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr Peter Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, is delighted to welcome His Eminence Archbishop Dr. Daniel Okoh, the President of CAN, along with delegates from all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. This important gathering will provide a platform for Christian leaders from across the country to discuss key issues impacting the Christian community and the nation at large.

 The meeting aims to foster greater unity and collaboration within the Christian community in Nigeria, strengthening the collective efforts toward social and spiritual growth.

The Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, with The Chairman of CAN Enugu State, Rev. Amb Emmanuel Edeh and other distinguished ddignitaries will receive the attendees. The event promises to be a significant occasion, with important discussions on religious and societal matters, particularly how faith leaders can contribute to national development and unity.

The meeting is expected to be a momentous occasion for networking, fellowship, and strategic planning as CAN continues its mission to foster peace and cooperation among Nigeria's Christian community.

Enugu: Finally, Suspected Killers of Ogbete Market Chairman Arrested

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects linked to the killing of Mr. Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders’ Association (OMMATA). The tragic incident occurred on September 14, 2024, when Mr. Aniagu was shot at Moses Ogbodo Junction near Topland Market in Amaechi, Enugu South Local Government Area.   Parading the suspects at the command headquarters on Friday, the Spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed that the arrests were the result of diligent intelligence work and coordinated efforts between detectives from the Anti-Robbery Section (D9) of the State CID and operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Tactical Squad.   The suspects were identified as Chukwudi Aboshi, a 28-year-old native of Anike in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, and Ani Innocent Ebuka, also known as “Excellent,” a driver and native of Isigwe-Ugbawka in Nkanu East Local Government Area. A dramatic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning at a hotel in Agbani, Enugu State, when a woman, popularly known as Madam Gold , attacked a young lady, Ijeoma Nnamani, over an alleged affair with her sugar boy, identified as Micheal Ozoh. The altercation, which took place around 5 a.m., reportedly began when Madam Gold stormed the hotel, banging on the door of the room occupied by Micheal and Ijeoma. Madam Gold, known locally as the owner of a popular beer parlour joint in the area, allegedly forced her way into the room and unleashed a physical attack on Ijeoma upon finding the pair together.
