JUST IN: Yahaya Bello Remanded in EFCC Custody
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has ordered the remand of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following charges of an alleged ₦110 billion fraud.
During today’s court session, Yahaya Bello, along with his co-defendants, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, pleaded not guilty to a series of charges, including conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and possession of unlawfully obtained property.
Bello’s legal team filed a bail application, but the court adjourned the matter until December 10th, when it will rule on whether the former governor will be granted bail. In the meantime, he will remain in the custody of the EFCC as the legal proceedings continue.
The case has attracted significant attention, as the accused individuals face serious allegations related to financial misconduct during Bello's tenure as governor.
