Nkanu West Council Conmences Grading, Laterite Works on Rural Roads
In line with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, has launched a massive grading and laterite works project aimed at improving road accessibility across the council's rural communities.
The initiative is part of the council's preparations for the upcoming Christmas celebration, ensuring that residents can enjoy a smooth and hassle-free festive season. The road grading project will enhance access to remote villages, facilitating easier movement for residents, farmers, and traders as they prepare for the holidays.
The roads being worked on include key routes through Onicha Agu, Ndiagu, Ogonogo, Eji Ndiagu, and several other areas, linking many wards in Nkanu West Local GovernmentCouncil. These efforts are aimed at not only improving transport accessibility but also boosting economic activities by making it easier for goods and services to flow in and out of the hinterlands.
Hon. Ogbodo emphasized that the ongoing road works are a direct reflection of his administration's commitment to the governor's vision for better infrastructure in the state. “These projects are part of our broader plan to enhance connectivity across our local government area, in line with the ambitious roadmap laid out by Governor Mbah,” Hon. Ogbodo stated.
