Top Monarch, Slumps and Dies During During Event:

Tragedy struck in Kaduna State on Thursday as the Sarkin Yakin Zazzau, Alhaji Rilwan Pate, collapsed and died while attending an event alongside the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.

According to an eyewitness, Pate, who was also a Council Member of the Emirate and in charge of health-related matters, suddenly slumped during the gathering. He was quickly rushed to the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Zaria, where he was sadly confirmed dead.

The Zazzau Emirate Council confirmed the death in a statement issued later on Thursday. Abdullahi Kwarbai, the Media and Publicity Officer for the council, expressed profound sadness over the loss, describing the late Sarkin Yakin Zazzau as a hardworking and deeply religious figure whose absence would be difficult to fill.

Emir Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli offered condolences to the deceased's family, reflecting on the inevitability of death. "Death is inevitable and can come whenever Allah destined," he said.

In keeping with Islamic rites, the late Sarkin Yakin Zazzau was buried at Rimin Dodo later that evening.

The entire Zazzau Emirate and the wider community mourn the loss of a respected leader, and tributes continue to pour in for the late monarch.
