Edison Ehie Alleges ₦5bn Bribe Offer to Impeach Governor Fubara

Edison Ehie, the Chief of Staff to the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has alleged that he was offered a ₦5 billion bribe in October 2023 to facilitate the governor’s impeachment.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Ehie claimed to have solid evidence of the offer.

“It was for impeachment. It’s here. I have it recorded, and I have printed it and distributed it, in case, in their evil imagination, they decide to attack me or kill me,” he stated.

His revelation has stirred reactions amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, with many calling for an investigation into the alleged bribery attempt.

Enugu: Finally, Suspected Killers of Ogbete Market Chairman Arrested

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects linked to the killing of Mr. Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders’ Association (OMMATA).    Residents of  Ikedinkpa Affa , a community in  Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State , have raised alarm over an alleged invasion by suspected  Fulani herdsmen , leading to attacks and heightened tension in the area. In a disturbing video shared online by  Mr. Emeka Amadi , an indigene of the community, he decried the growing insecurity, stating that armed assailants had taken over parts of the community.
