RENEWED HOPE IN ENUGU: MAMMOTH CROWD JUBILATES AS APC MEMBERSHIP SURGES, NDI ENUGU JOINS DECAMP TRAIN
The strong political wind sweeping across Nigeria is now gaining momentum in Enugu State, leading to mass defections of prominent members from other political parties into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Like a whirlwind, the APC is drawing in influential figures from rival parties. In Delta State, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) recently suffered a major blow as its former vice-presidential candidate and ex-Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Okowa, alongside his followers, defected to the APC. Similarly, the political structure of the Akwa Ibom State Governor has also joined the ruling party, further shaking the foundations of the PDP. This trend reflects a broader national realignment, as politicians rush to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and join what many now see as the winning team.
In Enugu State, notable political heavyweights are joining forces with Chief Uche Nnaji, the Honorable Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, who also serves as the APC leader in the state. Chief Nnaji, a seasoned politician and respected leader, is widely regarded as a man of integrity, humility, and proven performance in both business and public service. A devout Catholic and one of the most credible candidates in the 2023 Enugu gubernatorial election, Chief Nnaji has become a rallying point for change in the state.
In a symbolic and highly charged rally to welcome new party members from across Enugu’s wards and local governments, jubilant chants of “2027, NWAKIBIE IS COMING!” filled the air, signaling a new political dawn.
While addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Chief Nnaji emphasized the strategic importance of aligning with the ruling party at the federal level to fully unlock Enugu’s potential and realize the dream of making the state the pride of Ndigbo. He reassured the people that the APC is committed to rescuing Enugu from the grip of poverty and neglect, promising that 2027 will mark the rise of an APC governor in the state.
He also expressed deep sympathy to families who lost their breadwinners due to what he described as the “massive and insensitive destruction of livelihoods” under the current state leadership. He pledged to ease the heavy tax burdens on the poor, tackle joblessness, and restore hope in the face of growing insecurity and despair.
With the wave of defections and growing public support, it appears Enugu State may be on the brink of a major political transformation—one riding on the winds of renewed hope.
The 7th day of June 2025 marks the beginning of the Operation Decamp to APC in Enugu
