Enugu North LG Chairman Ibenaku Onoh Applauds Gov. Mbah, NBA Leadership Over Successful NBA Annual General Conference



The Executive Chairman of Enugu North Local Government Area, Dr. Ibenaku Onoh, has applauded the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), under Mazi Afam Osigwe, for the successful hosting of the 2025 NBA Annual General Conference in Enugu.

Speaking on the significance of the event, Dr. Onoh described the conference as a monumental achievement, not only for Enugu State but also for Enugu North LGA, which played host to over 20,000 lawyers from across Nigeria and beyond. He attributed this feat to the visionary leadership and massive infrastructural transformation championed by Governor Mbah.

According to him, the seamless hosting of the conference was the result of meticulous preparation and strategic investments by the Mbah administration. He listed some of the key projects that made the hosting possible, including the world-class International Conference Centre, delivered earlier in the year; the state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre that ensured maximum security; newly constructed roads and roundabouts that enhanced mobility and the aesthetic appeal of the city; the revamped Presidential Hotel Enugu; and the delivery of five ultramodern bus terminals with brand new CNG-powered buses to ease transportation.

Dr. Onoh further noted that the NBA leadership was convinced to choose Enugu as this year’s host city after witnessing these transformative projects. “They saw all these and knew: Enugu State is where Nigerian lawyers need to experience,” he said.

Expressing profound gratitude to Governor Mbah, the council boss stressed that the success of the event underscores the value of foresight and planning. In his words:

“We successfully hosted over 20,000 lawyers right here in Enugu State, more specifically in Enugu North LGA. A monumental achievement, made possible by the visionary leadership of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. The moral of the story is clear — there is victory in preparation at every level. Be prepared. The event has been widely described as a landmark in Enugu’s history, projecting the state as a rising hub for conferences, tourism, and investment in Nigeria.

Enugu: Finally, Suspected Killers of Ogbete Market Chairman Arrested

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects linked to the killing of Mr. Stephen Aniagu, Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders’ Association (OMMATA).    Residents of  Ikedinkpa Affa , a community in  Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State , have raised alarm over an alleged invasion by suspected  Fulani herdsmen , leading to attacks and heightened tension in the area. In a disturbing video shared online by  Mr. Emeka Amadi , an indigene of the community, he decried the growing insecurity, stating that armed assailants had taken over parts of the community.
