BREAKING!! ESWAMA Announces Statewide Clean-Up Exercise for Saturday, September 27, 2025, Demands Strict Compliance

The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has issued a public service announcement informing residents of Enugu State that this month’s clean-up exercise will hold on Saturday, 27th September 2025, between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am.
According to the statement signed by Joshua Ozioko, Head of Public Relations for the management of ESWAMA, movement of people and vehicles during the exercise is strictly prohibited, except for those on essential services who must provide a valid means of identification or ESWAMA’s official pass. Offenders, the agency warned, will be arrested and prosecuted at the environmental mobile court of law.
The announcement further directed that all early morning sporting activities across the state, as well as the loading and off-loading of passengers in motor parks and other commercial activities, should be suspended during the clean-up exercise.
The Authority also reminded Ndi Enugu that enforcement against illegal dumping of refuse or disposing refuse outside the waste disposal time of 5:00pm and 9:00pm daily remains ongoing. Scavenging in and around waste dumps and throwing of dirt out of a moving vehicle or tricycle are equally offences under the current enforcement drive.
Residents were additionally advised to pay their ESWAMA sanitation rates to the e-ticketing agents in charge of their areas to avoid penalties.
For further enquiries, the public is encouraged to call 08135534440.
