Hon Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo Hails Gov Peter Mbah on Smooth Conduct of State Party Congress



Expressing his excitement towards the aftermath of the recently concluded Enugu State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Congress in Enugu State, the immediate past Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo, also known as Eze Omeogo, has praised the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for the seamless and successful conduct of the congress. The state congress, which took place on Saturday, August 31, 2024, saw the election of new state executives, with Dr. Martins Chinwike emerging as the State Chairman, hailing from Awgu Local Government Area.


In a congratulatory message, Hon. Pedro Nwankwo expressed his admiration for Governor Mbah's exceptional leadership, which he credited for the smooth execution of the congresses. According to Hon. Pedro, the governor's ability to harmonize the diverse interests within the party was a significant factor in the success of the process, further solidifying the unity and strength of the PDP in Enugu State.


Hon. Pedro Nwankwo expressed his confidence in the newly elected state executive members, highlighting their capacity and competence to steer the party toward greater achievements. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected State Chairman, Dr. Martins Chukwunwike, whom he described as a loyal and experienced leader. Hon. Pedro emphasized that Dr. Chukwunwike's emergence as the State Chairman would undoubtedly contribute to the growth and continued success of the PDP in Enugu State.


"This election marks the continuation of Dr. Chukwunwike's extensive political career," Hon. Pedro remarked. "He has served as a Commissioner in the State Executive Council on three separate occasions, from 2003-2007, 2007-2011, and again from 2023 until his recent election as PDP State Chairman. His experience and leadership have been widely recognized, making his election a strategic move for the PDP in Enugu State."


Hon. Pedro Nwankwo also extended his congratulations to other newly elected officials, including Hon. Chukwudi Nnadozie, the State Secretary; Barr. Steve Oruruo, the Deputy Chairman; and other key members of the executive committee. The congress, held in the state capital, was marked by a peaceful atmosphere, with Governor Peter Mbah participating as one of the delegates.


In his message, Hon. Pedro Nwankwo urged all members of the PDP to rally behind the party’s vision and support Governor Mbah’s people-oriented projects. He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort to strengthen the PDP’s influence and ensure continued progress in Enugu State. "I wish to congratulate our indefatigable leader, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and our great party in Enugu State for the successful conduct of our 2024 State PDP Congress," Hon. Steve Orurua, and other state executive committee members for a well-deserved victory at the congress. The successful conclusion of the PDP state congress has set the stage for renewed vigor and unity within the party, as it prepares to continue its role in the development and governance of Enugu State.

Enugu: Mburubu 'Kingmakers' Council of Chiefs Denounce Controversial Self- Acclaimed Traditional Ruler

The Mburubu Council of Chiefs, also known as the Igwe Cabinet, has officially disowned Mr. Jerry Patrick Onukaibe, who recently proclaimed himself as the 'Igwe-elect' of Mburubu Kingdom.
