The Enugu State Government has announced a major recruitment drive aimed at strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery through its Community-Based Health Workforce Programme (CBHWP). The initiative, led by the Enugu State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA) in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), comes under the Renewed Hope Health Initiative of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. The programme, which targets all 260 wards across the state, seeks to improve Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Adolescent Health outcomes, promote health education, expand healthcare access, and create greater demand for Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
