ECCIMA calls for removal of bottlenecks hindering SMEs access to funds

The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture  (ECCIMA) has called on government and financial institutions to remove all bottlenecks hindering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) access to funds. The President of ECCIMA, Mr. Odeiga Jideonwo, made the call on Friday in Enugu in an address at the opening of the 36th Enugu International Trade Fair, which is  themed: "Developing Nigeria Industrial Sector/SMEs for Economic Advancement and Global Recognition." Jideonwo, who described SMEs as  the key that drive economic revival and growth, noted that they should have unfettered access to funds. He urged government agencies to remove every impediment that would prevent their access to funds in order from them to grow and boost the economy which in long run would increase the country's Gross Domestic Growth (GDP).   The general public is hereby notified that an unidentified man is currently receiving medical attention at the Emergency Unit of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu. He was brought in by the Nigeria Police Force on Sunday, March 22, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m. after being found unconscious around the Independence Layout area of Enugu. Preliminary assessments suggest that he was a victim of a hit-and-run accident. Unfortunately, he has no means of identification on him and remains unconscious, making it impossible to contact his family or loved ones. We urgently appeal to the public to help locate his family.   The High Court of Bayelsa State in Yenagoa has issued an interim injunction restraining former Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike , and his associate George Turnah from organizing or engaging in any rally in the state. The ruling was delivered by Hon. Justice I.A. Uzakah on April 3, 2025 , following an Ex-Parte motion filed by the Attorney-General of Bayelsa State against Wike, Turnah, and other respondents, including The Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command . According to the enrolled court order, the judge restrained Wike and Turnah, either directly or through their agents, associates, or representatives, from convening, coordinating, or engaging in any form of rally in Bayelsa. Missing Fish Farm Manager Found Murdered and Buried by Workers  Authorities in Delta State have made a chilling discovery as police exhumed the body of Chigozie Udalor, a fish farm site manager who was brutally murdered and buried in a shallow grave by his own workers. Udalor was reported missing on December 12, 2024, by his cousin, Hyacinth Nnalue, prompting an investigation by the Akwukwu-Igbo Police Division.
